AB testing

Make your website better based on facts using AB testing

Making changes to your website is fun, but what ultimately leads to more results and/or conversions? To find out, more and more use is being made of AB-testing. Through AB-testing, we have lifted several web shops to a higher level in the past. We use the knowledge and experience we have gained from this directly in new website designs.

Some things unfortunately always remain in doubt, for example, where should the order button go? What color or size should it be? The design of your website partly determines the choices for these kinds of questions. By AB-testing we can answer these questions and optimize your website.

What is AB testing?

An AB test involves making a copy of an existing page in your Web site. The visitors who visit your website are then divided into two groups, half of which can view variant A and the other half can view variant B. The goal of an AB test is to find out which version generates the most conversions. By measuring the conversion rate and revenue of the two variants, we can determine which version achieves the best results.

It is essential to start setting a conversion goal. What exactly do we want visitors to do on this page? Some examples are:

  • Ordering a product
  • Clicking on a link
  • Subscribe to the newsletter
  • A request for quotation

Depending on the number of visitors and the differences in conversion, after some time you can say with great certainty which variant works best. In this way, based on data (facts), we can optimize the website and ensure the best results.

What all can we test?

With AB testing, we can test just about anything. The only thing we need to keep in mind is that we base the choices on sufficient visitor numbers and that we have our objectives well in mind. Some of the things we can AB-test are:

  • Texts on a button
  • Color, position and size of a button
  • Position and size of an image
  • Content and order of pages
  • Adding elements such as carousels etc.
  • Content of a page, textual changes, bullet points, etc.

Why do I need AB testing?

In the end, results are very important for any business. So it doesn't really matter what you, your boss or other colleagues like better. Using AB testing, you let your client decide how your website should look. Through AB testing, we make decisions about the look and feel of your website through hard facts. So stop guessing and start measuring and optimizing!

With AB-testing, your website is improved in small steps. There are no big changes all at once, which keeps your loyal existing customers feeling confident. This is how we make progress step by step.
